January brought new adventures for all of us. Ashlyn started part day preschool and she has been talking about it since October. She's been on a waitlist since then and she loves getting her outfits together. She's just like me. She'll change 3 or 4 times before settling on an outfit.
Another new thing for us this year has been Enoch leaving for JRTC. We'll be missing him for a few weeks and I'm sure the kids and I will be tired of each other by the time he gets back. But we've filled our time with fun activities. We want to days to go by fast.
Ashlyn has become my football buddy and she has done a great job of filling in for daddy. We still miss him lots though. We've played dress up and cowboys and Indians, learned to write A-D and found out Conrad likes to eat Crayons and chalk. What fun messes we've had!

Christmas 2012
Christmas 2012
This Christmas was especially special to us because it would be the last one we had as a family before Enoch deploys in spring. I went a little, ok a lot, overboard on gifts. I wanted everyone to be blown away. It was pointless though...The gifts Santa set up when he came caught the kids attention and they didn't care about their wrapped gifts. We tried to get them to open them for an hour. Unwrapping lasted from 730 until 930. The longest session yet.
Santa was good to everyone this year. The kids got everything they asked for and more. And Enoch got his big ticket item. He was so excited. Enoch and his guns...what are you going to do?
Conrad had more fun climbing on his wrapped boxes. He didn't care to open them and once they were open , all they wanted to play in was the big cardboard rocket ship that took me an hour to put together and I have paper cut scars to show my battle.
Fall Fun
Fall brought fun times for us all! Halloween, playing in leaves, enjoying the cooler air.
Enoch was trying to teach Ashlyn how to carve a pumpkin but she was grossed out by the seeds. She would stick her hand in, make a face, and then tell us to do it.We decided to go to the Nashville zoo one day and we had it all to ourselves. It was a bit chilly outside and early on in the day. We didn't really make it past the playground there. It is huge. The kids didn't know what to do with themselves! It made for a great day full of happy fun memories!
Family Time and saying Goodbye
well I've been MIA for a while! It's been quite a long time since I've posted anything. Starting off with our trip to Utah for my great uncles funeral in Oct. Conrad Jenson filled the grandpa role when both of mine passed when I was pretty young. I'm so glad he got to meet Ashlyn and Conrad (awesome family name, right?) He was a very respected man in Salt Lake and in the church. Elder Nelson was his surgical partner for 15 years. I was so blessed to have such a great man in the family. I miss talking to him. He never lost his sense of humor. It was a long trip by myself but totally worth it.
The kids lasted all of 15 min in the car when we left the airport for our hotel. It was a really cold but sunny pretty day for the funeral service at the family plot.
Ashlyn was so proud of winning one of those crane machines at dinner with the family. She popped the ball before we even got in the car to leave though.
We had a great time with grandma and grandpa!
Every time we've been to SLC, Ashlyn has asked to ride Trax. This time we finally did it and she was so excited! Once we got on the train, she was bored and said it was pointless.
