Off to Hawaii
Ashlyn and I are moving to Hawaii! We decided with Daddy on Tuesday it would be the best thing for our little family while he's gone in boot camp. It was a pretty touch decision to make. Rexrbug feels like home. I love having Enoch's family close by and all my friends. And I love my job. But the reality with Enoch leaving is Ashlyn wouldn't get to see her dad at all and barely her mommy. I did not want her in daycare at 8am every weekday morning and then picking her up at 5 or 6 every night left 2 or 3 hours with her. I am not ok with a daycare raising my first and only daughter. Living in hawaii lets me be a fulltime stay at home mommy finally. Financially it just made sense too. I don't have to pay rent or pay for a baby sitter . It's really sad for me to be leaving my job. I love all the people I work with. I just hope that working remotely from Hawaii works out. I really love what I do. Yay for diesels! haha

Independant baby!
Ash is so independent now. Well she wants physical contact but that is about it. She wants to eat on her own, stand on her own, take a bath on her own. I swear she wants to get dressed on her own.
She will take the spoon out of my hands and feed herself. And then of course....
she smears it all over her tray...then the tablecloth, then her hair, then behind her ear, then my face....
Plus, getting her to pose for pictures now is impossible. Enoch and I missed out widow to get family pictures taken... She was helping me make dinner and do dishes which she likes because she can get her hands moving.

BBQ night
We made some delicious burgers tonight. Nothing fancy, just juicy beef, lots of cheese and mayo and ketchup. Soooooo good .
Ashlyn loved watching dad outside. She would follow him around the kitchen when he came in and out.

Golf and grass
She wasn't sure what she felt about the grass at first. It was poking her and was a bit damp
Then she stared to warm up to it.
Then...she ate it.

Bath Time Fun
These are the many faces of Ashlyn during bathtime. Her bath is her favorite thing.
This one was by total accident. It was just the right timing and I just died laughing.
Every bath, she loves chewing on the foam letters.
If she gets water in her nose she just starts blowing in and out really fast. It's so so funny.
She loves drinking bathwater from the sponge. It's kind of gross really...but she gets so excited for her bath, she usually pees in her diaper before. I don't think she goes in her tub. Never know.

Our fun weekend!
We packed up the car and went down to Salt Lake this weekend to see Enoch's brother Jared. He hasn't seen his niece yet! I was pretty worried about the car ride down...we are all still gun shy after her 2 hour scream fest going to West Yellowstone. But she was pretty darn good!! She had some little naps on the way down.
Friday night we left right after we all got off work and I took Enoch and his brother Adam to Maddox. Now in the Flanders family, Maddox is a tradition. Anytime family is together in Utah, we always go. The rolls, cornpones, raspberry butter, chicken fried steak, fried chicken, bison burgers, oh man.....we all pigged out. And it was so good. Ashlyn was so tired but was so intigued by all the new stuff. She could hardly keep her eyes open.
We stayed with my great aunt and uncle but they are just like my grandparents. I just call them Grandpa Anne and Grandpa Conrad. They haven't seen Ashlyn since she was a few weeks old and now they are just amazing that she is crawling and pulling herself up onto everything.
Ashlyn didn't do too well with sleeping at all....once she's thrown of her schedule, it's bad news. Friday night I got a total of 4 hours....and Ashlyn ended up taking 5 naps all day Saturday. Saturday night was a bit better. But I think she enjoyed her trip. It was a fun adventure for her.

Saturday was a fun day for Enoch and Adam. They had some guy time and I hung out with Anne and Conrad. Later that night we went to Rodizios. Ashlyn stared down every server in there like, what are you giving my mom? It was sooo good. Ashlyn must be going through a growth spurt because wow, I ate so much food. I ate everyone else under the table....

I love gum (packages) !
While she was watching daddy make muffins, she made herself happy chewing on the gum container. This girl and paper...she was so tired but was so insistant on watching how muffins were made.
I'm so pretty in my Sunday best
This past Sunday at church, we had to sit out in the hall the whole time since someone was being very rambunctious and talkative. She found mommy's lotion and loved the shiny cap on the bottle.
These pictures aren't very exciting but they do a good job of showing off how springy she is in her daisy dress.

Such a little model!
She is always posing for the camera! I can't believe she's already older than 8 mos. She can pull herself up onto anything. Her favorite is the couch because she can get a good grip on the slip cover.
She is just always all smiles. This picture just lights up my day. Those rosy cheeks are just chewable.
She could be a Gap baby for sure! She's so photogenic!

She and Franchesca were not amused with us trying to get them to smile.
Auntie Kenna is in town!
This weekend my sister came up for a little visit and it was so fun! We spent the day shopping and just having a blast. Ashlyn was not cooperating at all for the pictures but it was still fun! Ashlyn has this thing with mouths. If she trusts you, you get her hands in your mouth. It's a thing she only really does with mommy and daddy and today Kenna found out what it was like to always have little fingers trying to pull out your teeth.
