Saturday fun

It was another fun Saturday. We got another toy...a MAK-90, same thing as an AK-47. It had a wooden stock with a thumbhole grip but it was ugly haha. So we got the army camo stock with the pistol grip instead. I guess 5 guns isn't enough. He wants 5 more. haha wow I'm definately an Idahoan. Enoch had a big jumpstart on me. It just felt good to be out in the sun, hence our sleeveless-ness. And I got stung by something...plant, bug, not sure but it hurt. I wanted to shoot my ankle. It's still all red and swollen. Maybe I'll still shoot it anyway. Well we found out my good friend Stephanie is pregnant. CONGRATS STEPH & JON!!!!!! Now Enoch and I are really behind. My friend Kassie had her baby boy Kaden. CONGRATS TO KASSIE AND SHAD TOO!!!! Enoch and I are really baby hungry now. So far...no luck. We haven't even been married a year yet so we've got time.

Congratulations Joseph and Andrea!

On Saturday, Enoch's little brother Joseph got married. It was so amazing to see them glowing knowing they'd be together for all eternity. Andrea looks so pretty and just beamed. It was such a happy day for the whole family. Everything went smoothly and I'm so suprised Andrea didn't freak out when the intern at the florist put the wedding date in as AUGUST 26 instead of July...I don't know how you mess that up....So everyone went to the neighbors house and asked to pick their orange lillies. The colors were orange and white and it looked so nice and summery. Mom-in-law Merri Ann made the wedding cake and did such a good job. She made Stephanie's too and made a little one for Enoch and I. We think she should get a business going. Well, that's 3 kids down within 10 months. Daddy Bowler is pretty happy.

They are going on their honeymoon to Mexico, I think down in the Baja region. Joseph went on his mission to Honduras so he won't have a problem with language. We let them borrow our car to go drive to Salt Lake monday for the open house and then off they go. We wished we could go tomorrow but we don't have any vacation time left.

While we waited for Joseph and Andrea to come out, we got to play with our little cousins. This is little Joshua. He was totally in love with Enoch. It made us so baby hungry.

He kept spitting his binky so his mom had to hold it in his mouth. But he was so so cute. I want a baby so so bad! I think Enoch and I would look good with a baby of our own in our arms.

My new horse, maybe

So this is Duke, the horse I really want to buy. It's pretty much a done deal until I talk to Enoch about it haha. But he and I are buddies now. Dan and his daughter were really suprised when I rode him. Dan was pretty much beside himself when he saw how good Duke handled with me. Duke hasn't been riden in a very long time and when that happens, horses tend to go green and get onry. He was an angel with me. He tried little things now and then to see if I was paying attention and when he knew he couldn't get away. It was so much fun and so good to get out and ride again. Hopefully I can make this an almost everyday thing. I miss my old horse so much. Duke is so much like him. So if Enoch and I can work out money, I can buy him.

Saturday fun

When us Idahoans are bored, we shoot things and watch people destroy things. I've turned into a hick! Not really, but there isn't much to do around here. But shooting cantelope and watching a demolition derby can still be fun. I went to the derby with my mother-in -law and Enoch's little brother. His dad organized the whole thing and everything went without a hitch. It was so funny how into it some people got. Good times.

Enoch and I went shooting today too. We love spending time together no matter what we're doing. The first time I shot the pistol I hit the cantelope. Enoch was so proud of me. It made me feel really good. Isn't my baby hot?! mmmmmmm he looks SO good. It was a perfect day outside. Sun, no wind, no clouds. Just my husband and me relaxing and having fun with each other.

Happy 4th

This 4th of July wasn't all that crazy but we still got to see fireworks. There's not much to our holiday other than riding the Harley down and being able to zip through traffic and honking cars on the way home. Hey, because we can...It took everyone else probably 2 or more hours to get home. It took us all of 35 mintues, the normal time it takes to get from the Temple back to our house. The fireworks were pretty, like always. We got some pizza and sat and waited, not for too long thought. We got there fairly late and didn't have to wait long. We got a good parking spot too, thanks to the motorcycle again. We looove having it.

These are some of the fun fireworks.

Jacob's birthday and softball fun

Wednesday was little Jacob's birthday. He was so excited to be 12. I remember when he was baptized. Time sure does fly. He was so proud of his presents. Enoch and I gave him some H0llister H2 and his mom got him a hollister shirt so he thought he was stylin'. He looks up to Enoch so much. We stuffed ourselves on yummy homemade pizza and lemon pound cake. I could feel myself getting fatter. I had to represent our side of the Bowler clan because Enoch had to work that night. So I definately ate for 2.

Thursday nights are our stake softball night. Even though there are supposed to be 9 wards or something like that, we barely have enough every week to make a softball team. Enoch sure does know how to crank that ball! Lacey even got in on the action. Enoch tried to make me come out to cover right field but I just used the excuse I had my sandals on..I really didn't want to make a fool out of myself.

Something new

So we decided to get a grill. It always smells so good when our neighbors grill up some steaks. So we got a cheapie. This is my first attempt at grilling. By the looks of it I say it went well. It was windy outside (big suprise) so I had to scooch the steaks over to the other side of the grill. I think I did that right...Enoch just thought it was cute, but he didn't eat any of it. He wanted a hamburger instead. Looks like when I cook, I never have to share. He doesn't like the way I cook--too healthy, not enough fat.

Nothing new really...

Well, we haven't posted in a while. We've been pretty busy with work. Well, our friends Julissa and Oscar had their baby boy. Our other friend Lena and her hubby are pregnant and our friends Krisitan and Dwight are pregnant, Kassie and Shad, Darci and Tagg...we're just left out. We've been talking alot about it. It's a tough decision. Baby is a big step. I know Enoch would make a great dad and he says I'll make a good mom (even though I'm freaking out about it and I'm not even pregnant yet!) Congrats to all you guys who've just had a baby or who will soon have one!

We'll make one cute kid!!
On other notes, we went boating Saturday with some friends at Ririe. We had soooo much fun! Too bad Enoch just about broke his poor back trying to wakeboard, now his right leg is numb. We didn't get any pictures because I left my camera and my phone in our car. I just about ran Enoch over to get to the boat. We're hoping to go again for the 4th. Anyone have a boat they want to sell? And a truck and trailer and cover and wave runners and wakeboards....Yeah we can't afford one. Not even close. Well that's what's up with us. We're the least exciting kids out there.

Our Trip

We had the absolute best time in Hawaii. It was such good bonding time for us. We never wanted to leave. Every day was spent in the sun relaxing, playing outside, being spontaneous, having no where to go at any particular time, running through the rain, eating good food, playing in the water and checking out the cool fish. Hiking the lava flows was a unique experience. It makes you think about how quickly paradise can be covered with blackness. In a matter of hours, there's nothing left of what once stood there. There were plants and ferns starting to pop up between cracks in the new flows and it's amazing how quickly the plants reclaim their home from Pele. People had already moved back to the spot their homes once stood, just building new homes on the new flows. Now that's resilience.

I got nice and tan and Enoch got, well, burnt. He wouldn't wear any sunscreen even though I bugged the crap out of him about it :( oh well. It was so much fun still even though I couldn't give him hugs alot of the time. The sad part is I never wore sunscreen and I didn't get burnt at all really. Just light red on my shoulders that never even hurt and Enoch got roasty toasty. The sun felt so so good. We just wanted to stay outside all day and soak it up.

We ate so much amazing food. Grass fed steak and fresh fish, Waimea strawberries, yummy local desserts and ice cream, kalua pork, loco moco. If you've never had or heard of loco moco, it's a Hawaiian favorite. It's rice ( 2 scoops ususally) topped with a big hamburger patty and eggs any style. When I suggested it to Enoch at lunch time, he looked at me like I was nuts. And then he tried it, and really liked it. Hawaiian dishes are some of the best food we've ever had. We had such a yummy but really cheap breakfast the morning of the day we left. Three pieces of sweet bread french toast soaked in vanilla egg batter and sprinkled with powdered sugar and coconut syrup...doesn't that sound AMAZING. for $6!!!! You don't need to go to expensive fancy places to get the best food. The best food is at the local places. If you ever want to know where to go, just ask me!

We're already planning our next trip back to Oahu. We want to go to Pearl Harbor and The Polynesian Cultural Center and definately get some surf lessons for Enoch at North Shore. The PCC is such a great experience. It takes you though a trip through the islands and cultures of Polynesia. You take a boat around the the center and there are "islands" you stop and explore the cultures of each different people. And Pearl Harbor is just such a humbling place to visit.

Seeing my family was really the height of our trip. I missed my parents and sister alot and it was so good to see them. We had fun nights with them. They all had to work most of the time but when they weren't working we hung out with them alot. It was great!!
