1 week left!!!!!

Well we have 1 week left!! But Ashlyn doesn't seem to want to come out. Either that or my body wants to keep her in. She hasn't dropped all the way but she has come down a few inches. Efaced almost 70% but not really dialated at this point....So I'm walking even more and this whole week is going to be a diet of spicy foods.
We have an inducement date set for 8/18 if she doesn't come before next sunday. I'm hoping she does because I can only imagine how much pain will be involved with being induced....But a birthday of 8/18/09 will be really easy to remember. Ashlyn you better come before then!!!!

Summer Fun

We have had so much this summer! Camping, campfires, smores, hot dogs, fishing...We can't wait until next summer to have little Ashlyn along on our adventures!!

We went to the demo derby in Rexburg. This is my 2nd time but my first with Enoch there. He had to work last year. Our fave was Batman and Robin! They really didn't last very long....

A couple weekends ago, we went camping by Heise and I caught my first REAL fish! Ashlyn helped! It was pretty interesting trying to sleep with that preggo belly. Enoch packed absolutely everything we would need. He's such an Eagle Scout! We cooked hot dogs over the fire and I had just sat down with my ketchup and mustard smothered goodness...and one fell off and used my leg as the path to the campfire. I was covered in red and yellow. Enoch only thought I dropped my hotdog and then I lifted up my leg. I could tell he tried not laugh but he couldn't hold it in.
I wasn't as patient as Enoch was when it came to fishing. I want instant satisfaction and he could sit by the river all day and fish. Good thing I don't have to fish for a living...

We had a fun 4th at Rigby Lake. Look at my belly! Goodness...that's not a maternity suit by any means but I made it one. Enoch buzzed of his hair the day before...and his head was roasted by the end of the day...That kid and sunscreen...you would have to tie him down and mist him with it to get it on him. We had fun splish splashing around and eating shave ice.

Enoch showing the proper way to indulge in s'mores.
We had a fun family dinner at Enoch's parents house earlier this summer. Everyone was there for it and it just so fun. We made burgers and hot dogs, good ol pasta salad and the piece de resistance, smores!

After eating the main meal, the boys took it upon themselves to rid the property of pesky birds. Since Enoch's parents were re-siding their house, they destroyed all the birds nests...These are very vengeful birds...they pooped on their cars and driveway all day long everyday. There was no point in ever washing the cars because they would be pelted by the end of the day...Enoch with his bow and Joesph with the pellet gun took care of some of them. It was the funniest thing to watch. A few weekends before I went out to their house to wash my car and my father-in-law was out with the pellet gun going after those winged marauders .

Dresser Project

Enoch and I found a fun little dresser we decided to make over. Enoch spent a good part of last night sanding and painting. Enoch looked at it as a good reason to by a sander. The kitchen was covered in sawdust...I didn't get any before pictures of the ugly veneer. But trust me it was hideous. I went and hid in the bedroom while sawdust flew. But Enoch being the good man he is cleaned everything up and there isn't a spec of sawdust left anywhere. He did a wonderful job painting the dresser and waking up the hardware. It was a very very ugly gold before.

My turn on the project is putting "Ashlyn" on the dresser in pink and green. I want to put a cute stencil border around the top but I haven't found one I really like.

Finished stenciling!

37 weeks and counting!

Oh my lands she is getting big! We're down to an appt every week and braxton hicks every 10 min.... So far the doc says I won't be having a baby this week. I just want her to come out. We're so anxious to see her plus she's not fitting in there very well at all and is still moving herself in all different directions. Just a quick update for everyone! I would show pictures of the "nursery" but since we are going to be moving 2 weeks after she is born to Rigby, there is no point in putting a lot of energy into decorating just to take it down plus she'll be in the bassinett in our room for a while. Well go hog wild when we get into the house we're renting.

35 1/2 weeks

Well only 4 1/4 weeks left until little Ashlyn is here. I haven't posted a belly picture in a while. So here's the 35 weeks belly. Not much different than the 32 week belly. As a matter of fact, I don't think there is any difference at all....She's somehow making more room in there without sticking out more....Oh boy... She's up so high I can hardly breathe at all but it will all be worth it in the end. I'm starting to get really nervous about labor. I guess there will be no mistaking when I'm in labor. When I can't even walk or stand up straight because the pain is too much, time to go to the hospital...The braxton hicks contractions are getting pretty intense and really really tight. Quite uncomfortable. If I'm sitting for more than 5 min and get up, BAM! Can't breathe for at least 15 seconds. And the crazy thing...us girls will want to do this again! Maybe 2, 3, 4 more times! You just can't squash that maternal and spiritual desire to have children.

Shopping!!

I have some really bad shopping urges going on along with determination to find the best deals. I've been looking around online all night for all things baby. Here's some fun things I found...and bought

Found this playard/bassinet with changing area for $80!! The pack n plays seem perfect to put beside the bed. I was looking at co-sleepers but they are quite spendy. I looked high and low for a pink/green playard but no such luck. But this will do quite nicely.

I found a bedding set I absolutely love! The 9 pc set comes with almost everything and the circle pattern is just so cute! Only downer, it's a tad pricy.

Then there is this one. A 10 pc set that comes with everything you see. I'm just not too hit on the stripes and the pastel pink but it's $60 cheaper. At least there is a little bit before she'll be sleeping in the crib.
There's so much left to get! It's kind of a bummer my mom and sister can't make it out here twice, once for an earlier shower and again for Ashlyn. Flying back and forth from Hawai'i gets a little too pricey. Hopefully Ashlyn comes close to the Aug 16th due date so the Aug 29th shower works out.
Ashlyn, we're waiting for you!!!!!

Baby update

We had a tiny shopping spree last night. Very tiny...came home with a crib mattress and a stroller/car seat combo. i was looking for one in pink and green since those are the nursery colors but all we could find was pink and brown. It was the cutest thing when picking it out. Enoch insisted on the pink and brown. He said "My girl is going to be spoiled. She can only have the cutest stuff. I'm not putting her in some uni-sex stroller crap". Being a father-to-be has really made an impact on him. Get this....when putting together the stroller and figuring out the car seat and base, he read the ENTIRE manual...everything....and then when he was done putting the stroller together, he REREAD it because "he didn't want to miss anything". I have never, ever seen him read an instruction manual ever.....He refused to look at them with our TV, our entertainment center, dresser, and bookcase....

We had a great doctor visit yesterday!!! We are finally done with "status" ultrasounds because little Ashlyn isn't so little anymore. 4 weeks ago she was only 2lbs 5 oz and in the 6% for growth. Yesterday, we found out she had packed on a whopping 1lb 12 oz! So she's now at 4lbs 2oz and in the 19%. Dr. Meredith said he was "just tickled" with her growth. He asked how I was feeling since she grew so fast. Well besides her playing xylophone with her feet on my ribs and headbutting by bladder and feeling like if I sneeze, she'll pop out of my bellybutton, I'm feeling great. So no more ultrasounds for us. We are now going in every 2 weeks for the next 4 weeks and then it's every week after that...it's gone so so fast. 7 weeks left and she's here!!!!

32 weeks and Shower date

Oh boy...another week has flown by and I'm still getting bigger. And yeah I'm at work again. Her sleeping schedule isn't as nice anymore...She's now really active between 2 and 4 am and sleeping from 9 till noon. WE HAVE 8 WEEKS LEFT!!!!!!
My friends Diana and Sara are putting on my shower. They are the best girls! I didn't think we'd have to do it this way but we'll have to do the shower after Ashlyn is born so my mom and sister can make it. Flying back and forth from Hawaii just isn't very cost effective and coming here in July for a shower and then again in Aug for her birth and blessing is just a bit too much...So Aug 29th is the date of the shower. My due date is Aug 16th so I figure that gives me enough time to recuperate and gives time for Ashlyn to grow a bit and won't a shower be so much more fun with the baby there?!?!
So Aug 29th is the shower, for those of you in Rexburg it's going to be at Porter Park in one of the pavilions. More info and invitations to come!!!
If you want to start emailing me your address, that would be great!!!

Dam Marathon

What a name huh? The Dam Marathon...

On saturday, I helped out Enoch's work with their Gringo's treat booth at the marathon sellilng churros, nachos, and yummy drinks. We were there from 8 until a little after 1. Good timing since it started pouring rain about 10 min after all the awards were handed out and everyone started packing up. There were these Razors behind us and it was just so funny when Scott and Enoch got in it. Ashtyn enjoyed it too. I just had to take a picture.

Wonderful Man

I love my husband more than words can describe. He's my best friend, perfect match, and will be a perfect father. He's been so excited for his daughter to get here. Even though my belly is getting bigger and I'm feeling more frumpy and unpretty than ever, he thinks I'm more beautiful and sexy than ever and he won't let me say otherwise.

Enoch, I love you. I'm so blessed to be able to spend eternity with you and our family we're slowly making. You are my love, my companion, my foundation, my best friend, my fashion director when I take trends to the extremes others just don't get, my personal assistant and secretary, my nanny, my voice of reason, and right now you are my brain since I forget everything and pretty soon you will be my right hand man in raising our first child. I wouldn't want to have a family with anyone else and I wouldn't trust anyone else to help raise our little girl. You are the best thing in my life and I can't wait to see where life takes us as we have more children, get more wrinkles, watch our children grow up and give us grandchildren, get our first gray hairs and our first pair of matching recliners since rocking chairs just won't cut it. And I'll even get you that sweet cane with orange and red flames on it as long as I get one with pink flames on it. I have no idea where we'll be at this same time next year, but nothing in the future scares me as long as I get to hold hands with you.

This is a tribute to my Enoch and all the reasons he makes me smile.
